Who we are
LoadAlarm is published by SHEVCO LLC (“we”, “us”). For questions about this policy, email [email protected].
What the extension does on web pages
The extension works only on the sites you set up. Chrome asks for your permission for each site before the extension can access it. On those sites, the extension:
- Clicks the refresh button you chose, at the interval you set.
- Reads the number of loads from the page.
- If you turn on new-load highlighting, records the rows of the load list so it can tell new loads from old ones. It records each row’s text, link, or ID attribute.
- Shows its own alerts, highlights, and setup tools on the page.
All of this happens inside your browser. The extension doesn’t send page content to us or to anyone else, except in phone alerts that you turn on, as described below.
Data stored on your computer
The extension keeps this data in Chrome’s extension storage on your computer:
- Your site setups: the site address, how to find the elements you picked, and a short sample of the count text.
- Your settings, including alert, sound, and phone alert settings. For Telegram alerts, this includes your bot token. For ntfy alerts, it includes your topic name.
- Monitoring status for open tabs, which Chrome clears when it closes.
- An activity log of load count changes: the time, the site name, and the counts. You can clear it in Settings.
- A short-lived record of the load rows on each monitored page, kept in that page’s session storage, which Chrome clears when you close the tab.
Two items are also saved in Chrome sync storage, so they follow you to other computers signed in to the same Chrome profile: the date your free trial started, and a random key that links your browser to your subscription. Chrome syncs them only if you use Chrome Sync.
Data that leaves your computer
Subscriptions and payments
Subscriptions are managed by ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com), and payments are processed by Stripe. When you subscribe, or sign in to restore a subscription, the extension opens ExtensionPay’s website. You give your email address and payment details to ExtensionPay and Stripe directly. We never see your full card number.
To check whether you’re subscribed, the extension sends ExtensionPay the random key described above. It does this a few times a day and after you open the checkout page. Through ExtensionPay and Stripe, we receive your email address, your plan, and your subscription status. We use them to provide the subscription and to answer your support requests. ExtensionPay and Stripe handle data under their own privacy policies: see extensionpay.com and stripe.com/privacy.
Phone alerts
Phone alerts are optional, and off until you set them up. If you turn them on, the extension sends alert messages from your computer straight to the service you choose: Telegram (api.telegram.org) or ntfy (ntfy.sh, or a server you set). Each message contains the name you gave the board, the old and new load counts, and the title of the browser tab. A tab title can include details shown on the page, such as a search name. Telegram and ntfy handle these messages under their own privacy policies. We don’t receive them.
Nothing else
The extension has no analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking code.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell or rent your data.
- We don’t use your data for advertising.
- We don’t use or transfer your data for any purpose other than the extension’s features.
- We don’t use or transfer your data to decide creditworthiness or for lending.
The use of information received from Chrome APIs follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Why the extension asks for each permission
- Access to the sites you set up: to click the refresh button, read the load count, and show alerts on the page. The extension asks for each site separately, and only when you click Set up this site.
- Scripting: to start working in a tab that’s already open, without a reload.
- Storage: to save your setups and settings.
- Alarms: to refresh on schedule even when a tab is in the background.
- Notifications: to show desktop alerts.
- Offscreen document: to play alert sounds.
- Active tab: to see which site the current tab shows when you open the extension.
Your choices
- To stop the extension from accessing a site, delete the site in Settings. This also removes the extension’s access to it.
- To clear the activity log, click Clear activity in Settings.
- To stop phone alerts, turn off Send alerts to my phone in Settings.
- To cancel your subscription, click Manage subscription in Settings, under Plan.
- Removing the extension deletes the data it stored in Chrome, including the synced trial date and subscription key.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold, such as your email address and subscription record. To ask, email [email protected]. We may keep records that the law requires, such as payment records.
Children
The extension is a business tool for freight dispatchers and carriers. It isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If a change affects how your data leaves your computer, we also note it in the extension’s update notes.
